Empty Seats
Loads of empty seats in the TB lower yesterday. Is this all to do with people getting chucked out earlier on in the season or being moved? Seems a shame to have so many empty seats behind the goal, even more so for a big prem game!

Stopped giving tickets to Newham staff?

Re: Empty Seats
We've not filled the ground once yet.

LOTS of empties all round the ground, all stands, all tiers, all games.

As stewie said people think it is shit and don't want to go.

Still, the 50k on the waiting list next season will take up the slack next season and we won't see empty seats.

Re: Empty Seats
ST holders not turning up because they hate the place plenty have been refunded and jacked it from block 114 in and kids tickets not being used or upgraded because it was £60 quid.

HOWEVER, it's been advertised as our record attendance and if anyone didn't go, that's because it was TFL's fault. LOL

OSer May 2016 - Transport links will mean EVERYBODY can go and we can take club forward.

OSer Jan 2017 - Transport links are meaning that ground is not currently being filled.

Aren't they the freebie Newham seats not being taken up?

What all of the empties scattered all about the place, 64?

Re: Empty Seats
It will be even worse on Friday, embarrassing even.

They're asking 70-odd quid for my seat, on a Friday for a game on TV. And my three 'free' cup games were Domzale, Astra, and Accrington Stanley. Without those glorified friendlies (as they were treated) I and others would have had Accrington, Chelsea, and Man City. As it is, for the sake of a couple of games that could have been sold for £20 a ticket they'll have masses of empty seats on telly for all to see. It's a joke.

Re: Empty Seats
tnb, there will be empty seats up and down the country for the FA cup games. It's the way it is nowadays.

I well remember the Everton replay, an epic game that concluded with the Adrian winning penalty, and that night there were masses of empty seats due to a gate of some 28,000.

What we will see in terms of empties will be a reflection of how diminished the FA cup is nowadays as much as the discontent of our fans over other matters.

In the east stand, where I am, every week there is 5-6 seats to my left free. Nobody has ever sat there

Re: Empty Seats
Comma,

It's a fair point. Sad, but true. Still, more than any other club we are the ones that will be highlighted - taxpayer funded stadium, ideas above their station, 'careful what you wish for' etc - more than anyone else. And I still think that the board could have anticipated that and managed it better.

Re: Empty Seats
I understand clubs will have a few empty seats up in the gods somewhere, but right behind the goal in the lower tier is terrible imo! surely the clubs needs to address this!

Re: Empty Seats
The BML seats are some of the best in the ground IMO. The freebies should be up where I have my ST where there are already a load of never used seats.

I sit in Upper West 203 and had an whole family including baby in front of me at start of season but haven't seen them since September ! ... 6 empty seats!

Ps. I can only think of the old story about the empty Newcastle seat when fully sold out which was only used from Boxing Day as the blokes missus got him the season ticket at the start of season but saved it for a Christmas present!!!

Newham don't get any tickets for league games.

Serious question, any idea why so many seats are empty, TBL? It's nothing to do with he 3k not released.

Re: Empty Seats
Mike,

I remember that...wasn't that on 606 in the old days when it used to be worth listening to?

I'm similar...there's a couple of lads in front of me and one bloke to the side who seem to pick their games. Whether thst is i indicative of 'new' fans lacking commitment or preexisting fans getting fed up isn't really the point. Either way it's bad news.
